I dont see how Coeburn managed to have school. You could go to the Movies and they would be fightin each other pretty much every other weekend.

Re: Party In Pine Camp area of Coeburn makes the news.

My brother is a student at Coeburn High and he says that ever since the incident, they've had many police officers all over the school and have even taken their breaks away, etc. for increased security. He also said that the homecoming 'bonfire' event will not be held, and I'm sure there will also be major security at the football game as well.

It looks like the few select idiots have ruined it for everyone in the high school now. It's turning into a prison.

That's what happens when you cater to the lowest common denominator.

    Punish excellence, reward mediocrity.

Not just reward mediocrity, but promote it. Gotta keep those federal dollars rolling in!

A lot of that has to do with the man (I use that term loosely) that's in charge down at CHS nowadays.

Doc Greear nor Steve Hubbard would have put up w/half the stuff that goes on down there most of the time--they would have put a stop to most of it before it got to this point. I know this was an off-campus incident, but still--if you've got solid leaders/role models to look at, you're less likely to do something like this. When you don't have that leader/role-model...well, you see what happens.
